Eronev 2: The Soul Cauldron

That's right, the sequel to (IMHO) the greatest Minecraft Custom Map ever made is here. & it is amazing.
Jigarbov combines a traditional Adventure map with a traditional CTM map in the most awesome way yet possible, fully using the new additions to Minecraft in the recent snapshots to deliver a truly unique map :)

Episode 1 is rendering as I write. So here's a little teaser image to keep you all interested ;)

Oh, I almost forgot, here's the link to this EPIC map :D

  1. (Raises impenetrable shields)

I like the overall concept of the map, and it could have been done brilliantly in a different environment, but I don't like it that much at all. Maybe it's all the wading through lava at a snail's pace, maybe it's the absence of direction and story, but from what I've played of it the original outranks it in every conceivable way.

    1. You don't need to raise any shield. Everyone's entitled to their opinion :)

I guess the main thing here is if you're expecting a traditional adventure map (which the first one was a textbook example of), this isn't it. & that is the biggest polariser right there.

    2. I wouldn't say the first was a textbook example of anything just because of how innovative it was when it first came out. This one just felt like a random CTM map... it wasn't "Eronevy" enough for me. Outside of the trailer and the name, there seems to be no link at all to Eronev 1, either in story or in the map experience.

As I said before, I liked the idea, just not the execution. I'd try my hand at making a similar hybrid map if I could ever finish Ore Scavenger, and some of my mods STILL need to update for 1.3.

    3. Speaking of which, how's Ore Scavenger coming along? Still looking forward to that :)
Also, hopefully you updated (if it's required) Creeper Invasion because I'll be getting to that as soon as I'm done with Gift :)

    4. As I said... the 1.3 version of Zombe's Modpack is currently missing buildmod and noclip functionality, which are what I mostly use. I can still work on it, but ludicrously slowly, and I can't make mobspawners or decent traps without it, did I ever mention that mcedit is completely messed up for me and I don't have admin rights on this computer to fix it?

      Regarding CI:
Yep, it didn't need updating to work.

It needs updating to not be abysmal, but not to work as-is.
