Okay, granted she was coerced into playing it by yours truly but let's not go into the details shall we? ;)

I just forced my mother to play Portal. It's as sad as it sounds :(

This was the first time my mother played a 3d computer game. All her previous gaming was mostly Solitaire, Spider Solitaire & the likes. So suffice to say this was an experience in frustration.

I was yelling at her every half second & she was confused as hell. She moderately understood the whole Portal mechanic. The thing that confused her was the 3d perception. She just couldn't grasp the concept of depth in games like these & the fact that Chell doesn't have legs was also a downer.

I recorded her playing with my Digital camera. I didn't use Fraps as I don't have any harddrive space to keep the huge files.

I will upload the footage of me yelling & screaming & her being frustrated & confused & fumbling with the controls probably on my alternate account where I upload my vlogs (VERY infrequently) & other non-gaming related stuffs. I'll post a link to that soon. Till then, bye...

First Proper Fail at Recording Gameplay Footage :'(

So I uploaded 3 more videos in my Portal (First Time Playing) Series which has me playing through Levels 16 & 17.

Today I started recording Level 18 & a little bit in, I Alt+Tabbed out to compress the Fraps footage as otherwise my Hard-drive will get full.

Then midway through the compression, Portal crashed making me lose my progress & also messing up the Blind Run. Then VirtualDub, the software I use to compress the large Fraps recordings, also started messing up & the compression time estimate increased from 5 minutes to 30+ & still went on increasing. So, I got very upset & deleted all the footage I had recorded.

Yeah.....

Not a good day. Not at all.

I guess I had this coming for a while now. So, here's a toast to my First Proper Fail at Recording Gameplay Footage.

I'll probably get back to recording once I'm not upset. Yes I know I'm acting like a child but what can I say.
My PC cabinet's a total mess & is now open with all the live wires less than a foot away from me since my SMPS fan got corrupted & makes this awful noise unless the lid is open. So I have to unscrew my cabinet & the SMPS lid everytime I want to use my computer which takes about 5 minutes & then after I shut down the computer I have to reattach all the pieces back, taking another 5 minutes.
That is VERY annoying. You might think that it's not too much of a problem but it actually is. So nowadays, I'm kinda getting quick-tempered & I doubt I'll get better (mentally) before I get the SMPS fan fixed.

I guess this is sort of a rant blog. Good thing no one reads these :)

Electric Box - New Custom Level by RandomThought31

So as seen on my last post, I helped RandomThought31 discover the various flaws of his new custom level in Electric Box.
He has finally completed the level & made it foolproof.

As you can see, the multiple unintended paths have been removed.

To RandomThought31, you may think that this level is not very sneaky but I think it's still quite a good level & I think you should post it on the Candystand forums for inclusion in Level Pack 3 (if they make it).

Electric Box - New Custom Level by RandomThought31 - Work in Progress

I was recently contacted by RandomThought31 who you may or may not remember from my Let's Play videos of Electric Box Level Pack Volume 2.

I will henceforth assume RandomThought31 to be a guy - if he's not then...that violates Rule #22

He had 2 levels there & I'm guessing that he was equally surprised to see someone play his level - That or he's being way too modest - who knows.

Anyways he gave me a new level he made but Youtube's comment system somehow prevented me from copy-pasting it as the game showed an error :(

Eventually he sent me a Private Message on Youtube & I was able to play his new level.

I solved it very quickly & here's my first solution:















As you can see this is probably not what he intended the solution to be.

This level has a lot of potential so I'd suggest him to review unless he wants this level to end up like KH's level (see the last bit of this video)

RedEye 1031 - Welcome Aboard & Enjoy The Flight

Kindly ignore the zombified spiders, bats & fellow passengers.....& the fact that you're falling from over 37,000 feet in the front half of an aeroplane.

jmtb02 brings us this fun little survival game where you, a slightly overzealous passenger who likes nothing more than to run around & jump along the aisle of the Halloween RedEye, is forced to defend himself against hordes of zombiefied bats (obligatory TvTropes link), spiders (same case) & your fellow passengers using the awesome power of an Oxygen-mask & all the while wearing a Fedora :O

If that description doesn't get your blood pumping then wait till you hear the battle music by FuNaNdMoRe. That music is so kickass it makes me want to do crazy stuff like go into the streets & bust up a drug cartel or something similar XD

You might notice that this video is slightly larger than my previous videos. Luckily for me Youtube decided to be nice for a change & increased the video time limit from 10 minutes 59 seconds to 15 minutes.
I still went over the time (thinking it was 15 minutes 59 seconds) & had to speed up a portion of the video.

The game is quite fun & challenging although a bit short (says the person who wasted 6 videos on it)

But there are custom levels which are bound to add to the gameplay time.

Playing Portal for Free. Also it's my 20th Birthday :D

Today is my 20th Birthday & I just got possibly the best digital present I ever got : Portal for FREE on Steam.

Woooohooooooooo Yessssssssss

I'm a little sad about leaving my teenage years behind. But hey, a birthday where you get possibly the best puzzle game ever made, is definitely worth it.

I'm now considering on making a playthrough series on Portal. But that's after I finish Z-Rox & a few other Flash Games.

Hopefully I'll get around to buying a half-decent Graphics Card soon & then Watch out for Awesomeness to be unleashed :)

I'm presently in a very ecstatic state of mind where I'm liable to get arrested if I go out in the street simply for being too darn happy :D
